Getting to the Root of Your "Unique" Problem
Jul 18, 2019 6:00 PM
There are over seven billion people in the world and then…there’s you – the entrepreneur, student, father, mother, employee, or employer. The man or woman who had worked hard (or maybe even slacked off) to get to where you are today. And yet, you know it – you’re still not where you want to be. Do you know why? No really, do you truly know why? You see, there are so many people out there focusing on the futures they want. However, they never realize that they’re ignoring the most important thing hindering them in the first place: the root of their problems. And if we don’t pay careful attention to the roots of who we are, we won’t ever achieve our ideal selves. Ask any botanist, and he or she will tell you: healthy roots provide significant results and incredible growth. It’s no different than in your life or your business’s. Don't believe us? Then come to July 18th's General Meeting at R&M Reyes Enterprise, where we'll have Malakhi Reynolds, an actual Botanist, and Raven Beria, a Business Executive, tell you just that. |

We do not have a regular meeting next Thursday, but we will be supporting the Read to Me International, IHS, and Honolulu Sunrise Club in the next Kahauiki Reader's Rally on that date. The times are flexible, so please let me know when you would like to come. I have attached the schedule and you can choose what time you would like to join us. In a nutshell, like the last time, there isn't much work to be done, but I would like to support the Kahauiki residents as much as possible. Registration starts at 5:30, program starts at 6:00, feeding starts at 7:00PM and clean up is at 7:30PM. Robi Kahakalau will be the guest reader, and hopefully the entertainer. The Sunrise club will be buying the bentos to pass out, and also household items to give away to the residents as prizes, and I have committed to bringing fruit, and a jug of water. Please let me know what you would like to do and I can schedule you in. The plan is to also geet our members together and walk through the development to see what has been done and what the future buildings look like. We plan to help with the landscaping installation, along with other Rotary clubs on Oahu, hopefully the last week in August. Mahalo, |

HOME stands for Homeless Outreach Medical Education
The service project will be a joint project with Honolulu Sunset Club. The activity will be making hygiene kits and doing a small cleaning of the Clinic RV.
We’ll be asking volunteers to bring donated supplies of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoos, conditioner, soaps, lotion, body wash, mostly hotel/travel size bottles (usually collected while traveling, also ask your dentist for donations).
The tentative timeline is below if you cannot make the start that okay just join when you can:
5-5:30pm: arrive, setup, clean the RV, meet the students and volunteers.
5:30-6:15pm: divide into 2 groups: (1) make Hygiene Kits, or (2) RV tour. Possible 3rd group will make/serve food to the homeless.
6:15-7:15pm: potluck dinner followed by guest speaker(s) from HOME Project.
7:15-8pm: groups switch: (1) RV tour, (2) finish making Hygiene Kits.

The Community Service project of supplying Kahauiki Residents with Welcome Packages will be on August 24th from 8:00-Noon. Our club will be sorting and assembling household items, donated by Oahu Rotary Clubs, in a small storage bin to give to the residents that are in the process of moving in by the end of August. Half of them are in the process of moving in, but this will help them start up their new life at Kahauiki. |

Aug 30, 2019 6:00 PM - 8:06 PM
This Friday Aug 30th is our next service project for the homeless. We will be serving and providing the meal and need your help by providing chili for those who will be attending. If you are unable to come but still want to help by supplying some chili me know. We need to serve about 100 people. Let's serve those that are in need at the Next Step Shelter on Friday, August 30th.
