15 Sep 2026 Anne Mukai, Hawaiian Humane Society Sep 15, 2026 6:00 PM Anne Mukai has worked at the Hawaiian Humane Society since May 2019. Anne runs the Hawaiian Humane Society's Education Department as Manager of Education Programs. Her job primarily focuses on doing presentations all around the island, educating different groups on various animal welfare topics in hopes to increase humane education for all. However, you'll also see Anne working with individuals and groups on projects to support animals, at events throughout the year with an educational booth, and hosting some fun educational events of her own such as youth summer camps, a Teens4Animals Council, and even a keiki reading event during the holidays.

30 Oct 2026 Let's Serve at Keauhou Shelter Oct 30, 2026 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Volunteers Needed Join the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor as we serve our friends at the Keauhou Shelter. Setup begins at 6:00pm. About Keauhou Shelter Keauhou (Keauhou means “a new beginning”) is located at 1020 Isenberg St in Honolulu (Map). We accept walk-ins and referrals based on availability. Walk-ins can come as early as 8:30 a.m. to fill out an intake pre-application. If space is available, staff will schedule a new time for applicant to return to complete the admission paperwork (no later than 4 p.m.). Keauhou provides emergency housing using the Housing First model. This model allows us to enroll clients straight from the street and assist them once they are housed. Keauhou holds 75 clients in a dormitory-type arrangement with shared bathrooms and showers, shared kitchen, and laundry spaces. Services include: Emergency shelter for couples and individuals Housing placement assistance Job training Obtain documents (State ID, social security card, etc.) Mail services Eligibility Criteria: Homeless or at risk of being homeless.

10 Nov 2026 Alexander Silvert, Author Bribery Law in Hawaii Nov 10, 2026 6:00 PM Alexander Silvert is Retired Federal Public Defender in the State of Hawaii. He is the author of the “Mail Box Conspiracy”, and is writing another book. He will discuss bribery law spanning from the Kaneshiro trial to current indictment in state court against Lt Governor Sylvia Luke et al, to understand the differences between federal and state law and why/how it came to be that the Attorney General is prosecuting this case, not the Feds. He will also discuss different aspects of the current state prosecution, including what happens next in the trial process and what can be expected.
15 Nov 2026 IRS Annual Filing Requirement Nov 15, 2026 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM Whether your club is a subordinate under Rotary International’s 501(c)(4) group exemption or is independently tax-exempt, the IRS requires that all Rotary clubs in the U.S. and its territories file an annual information return. For clubs whose tax year follows the Rotary year, the deadline to file is 15 November. The form a club must file is dependent upon its gross receipts for the year. For more information, please see Frequently asked questions about annual reporting requirements for exempt organizations at www.irs.gov. It is important that your club comply with IRS requirements. Please note Section 6033(j) of the Internal Revenue Code automatically revokes the exemption of any organization that fails to satisfy its filing requirement for three consecutive years.
