We joined the monthly cleanup project by Pacific Club volunteers to clean up the Kamamalu Playground along with the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise in cleaning up the park and painting over the graffiti on the overpass from the park to Royal Elementary.

It was a hot day, but it didn't deter President Mylene, HPH Charter Members Dennis and Emilie, along with our guest Ambria and myself from doing good work at Kamamalu Playground (1440 Queen Emma St, Honolulu, HI 96813) on Saturday, July 13th, 2019. We were alongside four members from the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise (https://honolulusunriserotary.org/event/kamamalu-park-cleanup/) and about a dozen volunteers from the Pacific Club.

We cleaned the playground area and the adjacent sidewalks of litter, leaves and debris, mowing and weed-whacking the high grass, painting the electric transformer box, and painting over the graffiti on the overpass from the park to Royal School.
It was a simple service project and I'm sure the community of Makiki, the students of Royal Elementary School, Central Intermediate School, and the Pacific Club will appreciate the change.

As a reward for our hard work, we all had a nice lunch at the Pacific Club afterwards. Thank you all for your help in this endeavor and see you at our next event!
