GI Health
Mar 10, 2026 6:00 PM
Rydan and Aaliyah are faith driven entrepreneurs and parents who are passionate about helping families improve both their health and their financial future. Their interest in wellness and GI health grew through years of studying practical health solutions, working directly with families, and helping people make better everyday choices that support long term wellbeing. Through their work in the wellness and e commerce space, they’ve had the opportunity to educate and serve individuals who are looking for simple, effective ways to take better care of their health. What qualifies them most is not just study, but real world experience working with people, listening to their challenges, and helping them find solutions that fit into everyday life. Together, they are building a family centered business with the goal of creating greater time freedom while serving their community with integrity and purpose. Today they’re excited to share practical insights into GI health and why the health of your gut plays such a foundational role in energy, immunity, and overall vitality. |

Mental Health Matters
Apr 14, 2026 6:00 PM
Kathleen Rhoads Merriam moved to Hawaii in 2003 from working at Fountain House, NYC, the largest psychiatric rehabilitation program for adults with mental illness. The Department of Health hired her to strengthen and develop Clubhouse Day programs and since then, she has held a variety of positions with the Adult Mental Health Division. Kathleen joined Rotary as soon as she moved to Hawaii and met her husband and former district governor, Mark. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor; she has worked in mental health services over 35 years. Kathleen’s perspective comes from being a consumer, family member, provider, and administrator in mental health. She believes her own experience in various mental health systems as someone living with Bipolar illness has provided her with the greatest wisdom. Kathleen is the recipient of the Mental Health Outstanding Government Leader Award and the Department of Health Sustained Superior Performance Award. Additionally, she is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Honolulu and a current member of the Kaneohe Rotary Club. |

History of Pearl Harbor
May 12, 2026 6:00 PM
James “Jim” Neuman serves as the historian for Navy Region Hawaii, where he preserves and shares the history of Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, including the legacy of the USS Arizona Memorial. A 20-year federal servant, he began his Navy career in 1988 as an active-duty Ocean Systems Technician Analyst, later served in the Navy Reserves until retiring in 2022 as an Intelligence Specialist, and has worked as a Navy civilian. Since 2009, he has used history to inspire service members and civilians to understand and carry forward the lessons of the past. Previously, he worked as a tour guide and archivist at the Battleship Missouri Memorial, where he preserved historical materials and recorded hundreds of veteran oral histories for the National Archives. Born in Michigan and raised in Florida and Georgia, Neuman has called Hawaii home for more than three decades and earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Hawaii–West Oahu in 2005. |
