Be a Santa's helper by accompaning a student spend some Christmas money donated by the Rotary Club of Ala Moana! We will help them follow a budget for gifts and clothes. 

Meet at the Walmart on Ke'eaumoku Street at 8:30. Will take an hour or so per student. Please bring a notebook and pens to help keep track of the purchases.

OUR CHRISTMAS MEAL DRIVE IS HERE!

We're collecting goods & funds to help 10 Dole families have some nice meals over the holidays. 

Collection windows for food and money: Dec 9 meeting, Dec 16 Christmas Lights Walk, or drop at Emilie & Dennis' house

If you'd like to donate goods:

- Cans of any meat, chili, ravioli, soup

- Cans of vegetables, fruit

- Pasta, rice, mashed potatoes

- Cookies, candy

If you'd like to go big for a $25 10-lb ham, or just a straight donation of yr choice, please pay at the meeting.

As a special treat we're collecting scented washes, lotions, any bath items for the ladies and men! If you like wrapping bring those done up w/ a note of what it is.

Dec 9 - Drop off goods/$ at our regular meeting

Dec 16 - Drop goods w/ Emilie at the Christmas Walk

Dec 17 - 1:30 Volunteer at Dole to help the Interact Club create the boxes and wrap presents (text Jayce at 808-469-1840 if you're going)

Dec 19 - 12:00 hams and volunteers go to Dole to help distribute to families at 1:00. 2:00 school's out and high-fives all around!

Thanks in advance for your support, it will mean a lot, especially with food assistance programs set to expire soon. The principal has told us they're getting more requests for food than in prior years.

Lennon Akasaka was born in Japan and moved to the United States in the 6th grade. In 2019, he graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and rehabilitation science. Lennon is also certified as a personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine and has been performing as a trainer for 10 years. Using his knowledge and experience, Lennon has helped many people overcome their difficulties and achieve fitness goals they never thought possible.

Lennon currently owns Big Blue Fitness Hawaii and hosts a group exercise class called "Mobility and Flexibility" at Kahala Nui and Hawaii Kai Retirement Community, and it is one of the most popular classes he teaches.

At Big Blue Fitness Hawaii, they offer a mobile training service that brings fitness directly to the customer, no gym membership required. They work with clients of all ages and abilities, helping them to build strength, improve mobility, and live healthier, more active lives. Moreover, they specialize in functional training with a strong focus on helping older adults regain confidence and independence through safe, personalized exercise plans. Whether you want to move better, feel stronger, or simply enjoy life more, Big Blue Fitness Hawaii meets you where you are.

Setup begins at 6:00pm.

About Keauhou Shelter

Keauhou (Keauhou means “a new beginning”) is located at 1020 Isenberg St in Honolulu (Map). We accept walk-ins and referrals based on availability. Walk-ins can come as early as 8:30 a.m. to fill out an intake pre-application. If space is available, staff will schedule a new time for applicant to return to complete the admission paperwork (no later than 4 p.m.).

Keauhou provides emergency housing using the Housing First model. This model allows us to enroll clients straight from the street and assist them once they are housed. Keauhou holds 75 clients in a dormitory-type arrangement with shared bathrooms and showers, shared kitchen, and laundry spaces.

Services include:

• Emergency shelter for couples and individuals
• Housing placement assistance
• Job training
• Obtain documents (State ID, social security card, etc.)
• Mail services

Eligibility Criteria:

• Homeless or at risk of being homeless.
