We are holding a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Wahiawa-Waialua for our official District Governor Club Visit at Mango Street Grill in Wahiawa (130 Mango St).
Arrive at 5:30pm for fellowship and to order food and drinks.
Official District Governor VisitJennifer Jones is leading us as the first female Rotary International President. We look ahead to greater accomplishments in our pursuit to exemplify our core values and imagine living up to our motto, Service Above Self. As Jennifer says, let’s take care of each other and continue to ask the community how we can be of service. This year, membership is the focus, as it has been over the years, but this time, let’s take it up a notch. We are going to increase our engagement with members and expand our reach. With more hands, we can imagine more impactful projects and continue our mark to be rainmakers. Rotary in Hawaii has been here since 1915 and we plan to be here another 100+ more years to care for our island communities. Together, we can make a difference! Together, we can do more for our members and our communities. Together, we can imagine a world without Polio, a world with Rotary fellowship, and our renewed commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Randy Hart

Volunteers Needed!***MINIMUM AGE IS 18 YEARS*** The Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor is partnering with the Hawaii Foodbank to prepare food boxes for kupuna with the their Senior Food Box Program, otherwise known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). This program provides a monthly box of quality USDA food to low-income kūpuna. For participating kūpuna, CSFP provides more than just food and nourishment. It also helps to combat the poor health conditions often found in kūpuna who are at risk of hunger and experiencing food insecurity. CSFP helps vulnerable kūpuna from having to choose between food and other basic needs. The food provided in each Senior Food Box can play an important role in combatting the health consequences of senior hunger and, ultimately, can help kūpuna avoid costly hospitalizations and nursing home placements. Senior Food Boxes are specifically designed to supplement needed sources of nutrients typically lacking in participants’ diets. Boxes include foods such as cereal, juice, protein, milk, peanut butter, dry beans, potatoes, grains, rice, cheese, fruit, vegetables and more. More information about the program can be found on Hawaii Foodbank's website. |

At Kalihi Elementary School, the main student morning drop-off location and gateway into the learning spaces for all students, the Arrival Garden serves as a daily front lanai of which the character and design treatments should aspire to educate, evoke positivity and provide a sense of welcomeness, pride and harness school spirit. With that in mind, the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor along with our community partners are planning to beautify this area. The project will include installing raised planters to manage the slope, along with planting flowers and shrubbery in the area for a more welcoming atmosphere. There will also be other small projects on the school grounds. Save the date! |
